Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Jo’s Pilates and Seated Exercise classes. By booking and attending classes, private sessions, workshops, retreats or using our facilities, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.
By using our services, you agree to comply with all policies outlined herein.
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on the website and will take effect immediately unless otherwise stated.
Session Details
- 1:1 and 1:2 sessions last for one hour. Mat classes are also one hour long.
- Seated Exercise classes range between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
Payment
- Payment is required in advance for sessions when paying via the website or by bank transfer. If paying in cash, payment must be made at the start of the class or session.
Cancellation Policy
- To cancel or reschedule a 1:1 or 2:1 session, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows time to offer the slot to another client.
- Efforts will be made to reschedule your session to a mutually convenient time. If none of the alternatives work for you, the session will be forfeited.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice result in forfeiting 100% of the session cost.
- If you miss a class in a 6-week block, you may attend an alternative class within the same block, subject to space availability. Please check with the instructor for confirmation.
Health, Safety, and Risk
- All clients must complete a Health Questionnaire before attending and inform the instructor of any changes in health status, including injuries, medications, or pregnancy.
- Participating in Pilates carries inherent risks. Clients are responsible for their readiness and acknowledge that instructors do not provide medical advice.
Instructor Guidance
- Clients are expected to follow all instructions during classes. Joanna Fernandes reserves the right to refuse or remove any client whose health or behaviour may pose a risk.
Attire and Studio Conduct
- Wear suitable, fitted, breathable athletic clothing that allows full movement. Avoid clothing with zippers, buttons, or jewellery, as these may catch on mats or equipment.
- Bare feet are encouraged unless you have foot conditions, in which case non-slip socks should be worn.
- Keep all phones and devices on silent and out of sight during sessions to minimise distractions.
- Conversation during sessions should be minimal and respectful.
Behaviour and Etiquette
- Arrive 5–10 minutes before class to get settled on your mat in a relaxed manner.
- If you arrive more than 5–10 minutes late to class, the instructor may decide whether you can join, to maintain safety and minimise disruption.
- Late arrivals to 1:1 or 2:1 sessions will have the missed time deducted. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late will result in cancellation without refund.
- If the instructor is late, the time will be made up at the end of the session or rescheduled.
Studio Care
- Return all equipment to its proper place after sessions.
- Personal belongings are brought at your own risk; the studio is not liable for loss or damage.
Respect and Conduct
- All clients must treat instructors, staff, and fellow class members with respect. Harassment, abusive language, or repeated misconduct may lead to removal from class and exclusion from future events by Joanna Fernandes.
Limitation of Liability
- By participating, you agree to release Joanna Fernandes from all liability and indemnify her against any claims, actions, costs, or demands related to injury, loss, death, or damage to your person or property during participation in the programme. This agreement is binding upon Joanna Fernandes, her estate, and her successors, and benefits Jo’s Pilates, her instructors, and all clients and their successors.
Health Certification
- By joining, you certify that you are voluntarily participating in a physical conditioning and corrective exercise programme inspired by Joseph H Pilates.
- You confirm that you are in good health or have your physician’s approval to take part in this programme.
- You understand the risks of the programme, including potential short-term aggravation of symptoms, tiredness, light-headedness, increased energy, mood changes, and mild soreness.
- You acknowledge that Joanna Fernandes is not diagnosing or treating medical conditions and that you must keep her informed of any health changes or contact details.
- Joanna Fernandes reserves the right to cancel your session without warning if she believes you are unfit to train—such sessions will be forfeited without refund.
Privacy Policy
- Personal information is collected solely for providing services and communication.
- We do not share your data with third parties without your consent.
