Jo's Pilates

About Me

Having trained initially as a dancer, Jo has been in the Fitness Industry for 30 years and has enjoyed teaching a wide variety of classes for both children and adults including Aerobics, Step, Body Conditioning, Aqua, Circuit Training, Chair Based Exercise for 60+ and many types of Dance. She started teaching Fitness Pilates about 15 years ago and enjoyed the contrast to all her high energy classes so much that she decided to get a more in depth knowledge of this amazing method and trained and qualified as a Level 3 Matwork Pilates Instructor in 2012.

She also specialises in Exercise for the Older Adult and teaches in Residential Homes and 60+ Centres. running sessions that work on improving mobility, increasing range of movement, strength, coordination and balance work.

"I love to see the difference that both Pilates and General Exercise can make to peoples’ lives – not only to their bodies but also to their minds. I really feel that the mind and body are connected so deeply and if you feel good mentally you will feel good physically and vice versa. I love that my class members really enjoy their sessions on a social basis as well as a physical one and that they have formed such great friendships with each other and as groups. They perform even better in class because they have a close connection and are all experiencing the amazing benefit and magic of doing Exercise together."
